![]() ![]() Sunny Rest Resort has to be the single best find of our lives! We originally found this place in 2003 and have since spent most summer weekends there. We met wonderful people, the residents were friendly, loved the golf cart, loved the pools, had a fabulous time, and we can't wait to go back! More Show less ![]() Just do it - relax - and enjoy the experience. You will not be the best looking person there and you will not be the worst looking either. The fact that everybody is nude is why nobody really pays any attention. You think - what is wrong with me - nobody even noticed than I am naked. After a short time you realize that no one really notices you and you feel a little let down. For the first 15 minutes I was afraid that everybody would point and laugh. The first time we tried the nude thing we were scared to death. After 15 minutes you forget you are nude and begin to relax. If you want to give the nude vacation a try, go Monday through Thursday, and you will be able to ease into being nude until you are comfortable. If you are looking for a lot of activity go Thursday and plan on leaving Sunday. Thursday through Sunday a younger crowd shows up. We loved the pool next to streakers bar, which they call a conversation pool. During the week there is an older crowd with the average age of the people in their 50's. The web site needs a little updating, but we found the place better than the pictures posted. This is a great place to get a feel for what living in a nudist community would be like, it was great. The only difference is the majority of the people are nude. The residents were very friendly, you see people walking their dogs, working in their yards, and cooking on the grill, just like at home. The crowd included plenty of couples around our age (30's). During the week things were rather subdued, but on the weekend the place came alive. Everyone that worked there went out of their way to remember our names. The pools, hot tubs, and patios were well maintained, nicely landscaped, and lots of fun. The clubhouse with its disco, pool bar, and restaurant was top notch. Whether or not it's worth the extra cost for the real McCoy, we wouldn't dare opine. Because these brands contain no actual maple syrup, labeling laws prohibit the companies from even using the word "maple" on the bottle. These are mostly made with high-fructose corn syrup and maple flavoring. Pure maple syrup, particularly the really good stuff, can get pricey, which is why most of us are more likely to have imitation maple syrup (such as Aunt Jemima or Eggo) in our pantries. When we talk about syrup as in breakfast syrup, we generally mean maple syrup, which is the lovely sweet stuff made from the sap of certain types of maple trees. Wikipedia lists no fewer than 15 terms that contain the word "syrup,” to say nothing of its other family members like molasses and honey. To find out how long fruits and vegetables last see our fruit and vegetable menus.Syrup" can be a confusing word because it functions as both a broad term for any thick, sweet liquid as well as a short term for the beloved breakfast condiment. Remember when we always say that a dish will only last as long as it’s quickest expiring ingredient? This is the perfect example of that, introducing a fruit or vegetable into the mixture makes the mixture last only as long as the fruit, vegetable or herb. Why does flavored simple syrup have a shorter shelf life? If the flavors are left in the syrup, the shelf life will only be further shortened. The shelf life of flavored syrup is generally about half that of plain simple syrup. Simple syrup stored in the refrigerator will last for 3 to 4 weeks whereas flavored syrups will last for 1 to 2 weeks. – Mango pits, from which it is impossible to ever scrape all the fruit, will make a simple syrup that can transform most any drink toward the tropical side. – Ginger peels make a simple syrup that will elevate the taste of plain old tonic water or a classic gin and tonic. – Mint stems will still make a tasty mint syrup, even after the leaves have been used. Keep that in mind with whatever quantity of ingredients are used, just remember that the ratio is always 1:1 of water to sugar. One cup of sugar and one cup of water will make about 1 & 1/2 cups of simple syrup. Leaving the flavor scraps in the simple syrup will only shorten the shelf life of the simple syrup.ġ) If making multiple flavors, pour the syrup into different jars and then place lids on the containers while they seep.Ģ) When deciding how much simple syrup to make, it’s good to know that one cup plus one cup does not always equal 2 cups. ![]() ![]() That doesn’t mean Biden shouldn’t do more press conferences. It was simple and routine enough that the media might not clamor for his next press conference as much as this first one. In the end, there were no eye-popping, jaw-dropping, head-scratching moments. Turns out, Biden turned high risk into modest rewards. According to tracking by CNN, immigration was the most-discussed topic, accounting for 19 minutes of the 62-minute press conference.īefore it even started, CNN’s Jake Tapper put it well when he called presidential press conferences “high stakes for every president. But other topics did, such as immigration, the filibuster and voting rights, foreign policy (especially around China) and infrastructure. The White House argued that Biden is doing such a good job with COVID-19 that there is nothing for the press to ask. New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman tweeted, “There’s a reason to express concern about a president not doing press conferences, but no question on covid or specifics on gun control is hard to fathom.” What else could he possibly say? Besides, weren’t there more pressing topics at the moment than a presidential election that is years away? Even if he, deep down, has no plans to run, there’s no way he would ever admit to it, and thus be a lame-duck president with more than three-and-a-half years still left in his first term. ![]() Zero questions about COVID-19 and more than one time-wasting question about whether Biden would run for president in 2024. Over the course of 62 minutes on Thursday, the Covid-19 pandemic never arose, except for in the president’s remarks at the start of the event, touting the accomplishments his administration has made in the U.S.’s yearlong fight. The media did ask some solid questions, but in what ways did it drop the ball? Anita Kumar summed it up well in the opening two paragraphs of her piece for Politico:ĭuring the first news conference of his presidency, Joe Biden was never asked about the defining crisis of this generation and, in all likelihood, his time in office. In fact, the headline on Rubin’s column was, “Biden excels at his first news conference. She also wrote, “The media did not distinguish themselves.” Biden spoke in great detail and length to show not only his mastery of the issues but also to suck tension and conflict out of the room.” In her column for the Post, Rubin wrote, “Try as they might to seem ‘tough,’ the media did not succeed in knocking Biden off message. ![]() Well, here’s what Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin tweeted after it was over: That especially goes for some of the folks at Fox News, who practically lost their minds that Biden didn’t call on Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy to ask a question. But, predictably, many of those who lean right picked apart Biden’s press conference in order to paint him as bumbling, stumbling and generally incompetent. Most seemed to think Biden did just fine. How Biden did likely depends on your politics. You know, like the kind we used to have before Donald Trump’s combative and chaotic ones. He answered questions about a variety of topics and answered them competently enough that it turned into your regular old ordinary presidential news conference. Which is probably exactly the way Biden wanted it. This is the most challenging part – sticking with the checklist you have made. Using a template is a good move as it’s easier to customize and print. You can even customize a template that you have downloaded to suit your purpose better. You can write down your schedule in any way that you want. This makes things more manageable for you. If you can, you should make it a habit to assign specific jobs to the other people in your household. For instance, you can schedule your garbage day every Wednesday because that is when the truck comes to pick up the garbage from the neighborhood. Just do what makes the most sense to you. If you intend to take a couple of days off, fit this break into your schedule. Make it a point not to assign tasks for the days in the week when you’re particularly busy. For these tasks, assign them a cleaning day in the fall and in the spring on your cleaning schedule template. Some tasks may only appear once or a couple of times each year. For instance, if you have a guest room that no one uses, this room might need a regular dusting just once a month.īut if you have dogs at home that shed a lot, you will need to do more vacuuming than other households. You can determine the frequency of certain tasks by thinking about what makes the most sense and what’s most reasonable for you. The jobs that you include on your list may vary from those of others since you have different needs and different homes. In your cleaning calendar, create a list of things that you think need regular cleaning. An example of the last one is to check on your smoke detectors that protect your home in case of fire. That way, you can include tasks that you do every day, week, and month. ![]() For instance, you can make a 4-week schedule. It is a good idea to first determine how long your schedule will be before you start to write down your tasks.
